What The Hell Is This Thing, And What Was The Builder Thinking? At Least It’s Way Better Than The Vega!

What The Hell Is This Thing, And What Was The Builder Thinking? At Least It’s Way Better Than The Vega!

I’m not 100%, but I think this car may have started out as an LTD or Galaxy. Regardless of what it started out as, there is a TON of work in this thing and some of it is done really well. The design sense though isn’t my speed. Note the well hidden, thanks to graphics, split at the back of the front fender for the tilt front end. If the front end is all steel, the person who fabricated the front end has got some skill for sure. “Where the hell did you find this thing anyway Chad?”, you ask. Well, our intrepid web dudes Scott and Michael were driving through Indiana to Illinois yesterday and just had to stop and take photos when they saw it. We aren’t sure how big Kentland Indiana is, but we know it’s got at least one “hot rod”.

I just can’t wrap my head around this one. There are things on it I totally respect, with regards to sheetmetal fab, etc. And then there are some that just scream “WRONG!!!” to me as well.

What do you think? And What they hell do you think it started out as?

    I’m thinking the local stock car – ( roundie poundie ) track ! ?
It would be fun to put some dents in it 🙂 The fans choice to get pushed in to the wall 🙂
The fab is good BUT it’s as ugly as my dogs ass with the sh#ts 🙂

as to the question what did it start as ?
My guess S10 ( full frame , short , and bolt any thing on it )
It started life as a S10 or that little ford thingy 🙂 they called a sorta a truck 🙂
probably the Ranger ( ford thingy 🙂 )
The ford oval on the front grill , ford tail lights . ?

Looks like possibly a ’65 Ford Galaxie 4 door with scads of modifications. Whatever it is, somebody kill it before it reproduces!!

One picture of the interior would have solved the puzzle! 60’s ford i’m guessing.

This is the perfect Bang Shift mobile, Chad. It will attract tons of attention, though it may not the good kind of attention. But, who cares as long as people look at it and the BS decals all over it. Best of all, it will never, ever get stolen. Bahahahahaha!!!

if i had to guess,i’d say a 66-67 fairlane—shortened,of course—crown vic? taillights—and is that a pinto back glass?–lotta work in that thing, and whoever did it has skill, just no styling sense—but hey,if it makes him happy, what the hell!!

Is it the “One piece at a time” car from that Johnny Cash song? Whatever it is I’d park next to it any day…. make my Matador look normal

Yea it’s better then the vega but only by a toenail in a foot race. Do have to give’m points for sheer determination to finish something that should have died on the drawing board. Too each their own I guess

I actually think this ones saveable. Bear with me…lose the hood scoop, grill and front spoiler, replace with a more stock looking from whatever the hell it is grille. get rid of the white lettering on the tyres, repaint the whole thing satin black…bit more detail work and it could look good..

It’s definitely hideous, but compared to that stupid Vega, at least it appears to be built with some sort of craftsmanship.

I thought dart with the quarter panels and wheelbase, but the roof, front clip and *ss end are all from somewhere I’ve never been …

That is a ford falcon convertible with a lot of fiberglass. All 4 corners are swapped, top, and doors are home brew. Looks like a high school body project.
