Charlotte, North Carolina is the place to be this week if you are a lover of Chevrolet B-bodies, especially the Impala SS variant of said Chevrolet blood line. The Impala Super Sport Club of America is an organization devoted to supporting Impala enthusiasts from sea to shining sea and while a lot of the members are focused on the 1994-1996 Impalas and 1991-1996 B&D bodies, guys who have stuff dating all the way back to the nameplate’s inception in 1958 will be on hand having a blast. As a proud Caprice owner myself, I wish I could make the trip to NC to participate in the event but other commitments have precluded me from doing that. Thankfully, with the help of show organizers, we’ll be bringing you photos and cool stuff from the event as the week wears on.

Lest you think this is some collection of power parkers and folks only concerned with the smoothness of the baby diapers they used to wipe their cars down, the event is a whole lot more than that. There will be drag racing on the famed four lane zMax strip, autocross action for those that want to kill some cones, and the capper for us, road racing action on the twisty course at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Of course there’ a massive show to go along with all the action. Outside of that there are a ton of activities like trips to the NASCAR hall of fame, go karting adventures, and on and on and on.

If you just want to take in a bitchin’ show and get bit by the B-Body bug, get down to Charlotte this week and weekend to have fun and meet some great people.
