At the behest of at least five, count ’em five BS readers who have suggested this tune over the last couple weeks, I’m featuring the song “Brand New Cadillac” today. I chose the version as performed by The Milkshakes because it is the most raw and BangShifty of the bunch. Garage punk rock is probably my favorite type of music. The more raw and “dirty” to my ear, the better. The Milkshakes were started by an English guy named Billy Childish. I don’t think they ever achieved any sort of major acclaim, but they could throw it down as evidenced by this song. Childish is a painter and poet along with being the lead man in a ton of different bands over the years.

Simple, raw, straightforward rock and roll that isn’t over produced….what’s better than that? To me, pretty much nothing.
