More progress, but with some hiccups too. What should Casey do? He’s asking your opinions on this one, because he may have chosen the wrong chassis for this build. After successfully building an F100 for just $1,000, it would seem that building a 1951 Chevy would be a snap for $3,500. But it’s not that simple when you consider what Casey is going to do, as this project will include a very interesting chassis swap, chop top, air ride, interior, and more. While it will be a patina style build it is going to be cool as hell and something you could drive cross country with no issues. We dig these cars and this one is the perfect candidate for a chassis swap and rebuild. We approve, and can’t wait to see it come to fruition.
In this video Casey will be talking about the chassis, the challenges it brings, and then also starts the budget board. He will be going through the budget from start to finish to make sure we all see exactly what he’s spending. And even though they are not part of the budget, he’s also keeping track of every tool he uses on the project so you can see what some of them might cost so the haters can be silenced. Go Casey.
Stay tuned, because Casey is serious about the budget and sells as much as he can off the donor or project vehicle so that he can really make things work. On the $1,000 build, he even included a tools list and how much each of them cost. This guy is thorough.
Hey Casey
Just stumbled onto your vid on the ‘51 Chevy fastback, my very first car in 1962, at age 16.
Naturally, I’d love to see what you can do with it, to bring it back to life.
By air bags, I guess you mean raising & lowering one end of a car, not the kind that deploy to protect passengers in a crash.
As for your budget, I think that your disclosures on how you apportion your costs (parts vs tools) allows you to define your goals & objectives however you wish.
Accountants do this all the time.
Have fun & stay safe.

I watched most of his $1K build and would have loved to own that truck! Can’t wait to see what mods to mate the S10 Blazer to the ’51 Chevy.
