If you have been following along with our updates on this cool 1939 Ford Convertible that the Iron Trap Garage crew saved, you will love this video too. With all the excitement that came with finding and saving this one, and then realizing that the engine was spinning freely, and then deciding to see if it would actually run, you knew that actually driving this thing like a real car was going to have to be on the list too. In this video they take it to the next level and have it all running and driving down the road! Check out the adventures!
After getting the 1939 Ford Convertible Sedan engine running, it’s time to get it running off its own fuel tank. When Matt and Steve first started cranking the flathead over, the stock fuel pump started to shoot out gross old fuel!! First step is to flush out any gross fuel we can, and dump in a bunch of fresh fuel with an inline filter to catch any of the big chunks. Once its running on its own tank, the only logical step is to take Moon for a ride around the yard….with no brakes!!! We can’t end the video there, Steve get’s to work fixing the brakes so Matt, Steve and Mike can take it for its first maiden voyage down the road!!
