Genius Or Insanity? Check Out This 2005 Pontiac Vibe That Has Been Turned Into An RV!

Genius Or Insanity? Check Out This 2005 Pontiac Vibe That Has Been Turned Into An RV!

Once again, I take aim at Chad’s kink for strange and unique recreational vehicles, and this time I’m going with one of the strangest finds I’ve ever encountered: a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. Yeah, that’s right…the little badge-swapped Toyota hatchback that makes for a decent mileage-minded daily driver, as a recreational vehicle. Folks, if I hadn’t seen the pictures with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it either. I’ve got nothing against the Vibe, other than it’s questionable model name. It’s good at what it does: sips fuel well enough, drives forward and occasionally backwards, and can haul stuff. I used one to move once, and except for the furniture, it did the task just fine. It’s a car I’d recommend to someone, but this one…I don’t know…

On the surface, the Pontiac encourages questions, like “How is that legal?”, “Are there children inside?”, and “Sir, could you please step over here for a minute?” But get past the exterior looks and it’s obvious that some kind of thought went into the build.

From the listing: “There is no back seat. Register as normal car because this is add on camper shell just like truck camper. Awesome to drive, still low enough not to get blown around. This camper shell is solidly mounted to car, been through plenty of high winds and this top is going No where. Shell is bolted into roof of car and also attached into the hitch. Metal bracing in the back. , so it can be removed but I hope no one ever will.Car gets 24 mph on flat terrain and will climb mountains and still get 20mpg. Car has cruise control, power windows, doors, locks. Cold A/C and Heat work perfectly . Pioneer Stereo . New Tires. B&M transmission supercooler KC daylighters, smoked LED marker lights, LED Cab and marker lights, and tail lights. This vehicle is superb for parking overnight at rest areas and truck stops. Two adults can sleep up top but it is rather tight. One person feels like a king inside the camper. The camper is a Bed that is mounted to roof 8 feet long. Front area is a awesome storage area for baggage and Water Jugs. Reading lights, Fantastic Fan with thermostat and reversable air and 3 speeds.”

Other than some of the electronics being removed (we’re certain that TV isn’t included in the deal), this looks like the ideal multi-day roadtrip car for one. Or the quickest way to have a conversation with a cop anywhere you have this Vibe at. What do you think?

But you have to admit, Chevy Hatin’ Mad Geordie, if you put it on an Pontiac Aztec, it would improve the appearance!
