Iron Trap’s 1934 Ford Coupe “Beautiful” Has A New Engine And Is Ready To Drive!!

Video 1 Description:

In the last update on “Beautiful” we found out the 59ab we had planned on putting in as a replacement had a cracked block. The engine appeared to be totally rebuilt but the block had a crack into a cylinder, and into the center exhaust port. Thankfully in our stash we have a 35/6 engine block that looks lightly used. Steve and Matt’s Dad work on getting the water jackets cleaned out, and bolt on all the known good parts we removed from the original engine. Once the engine is ready to run, its time to fire it up and see if it will overheat. Thankfully the engine ran for 22 minutes with the shop fan and never went over 185 degrees. Time to swap in the new engine and enjoy the summer while driving Beautiful.

Video 2 Description:

In the last video on our 1934 Ford Coupe “Beautiful”, Matt and Steve got the replacement engine running. After letting it run a few time and getting up to temp, it’s time to install into the car. Steve and Matt’s Dad get to work installing the new engine. After it is installed, Matt cleans up the air cleaner, tops off the coolant and takes it for a spin! Matt and Steve take it for a 30 minute drive to make sure everything is working properly. The test drive has added a few items to the punch list, but overall the car is almost ready for the road!
