Classic YouTube: This Supercharged, 5.0L Swapped Saab 900 Rules! Where Did This Car Go?

We like the strange and weird around here if it is done right, but what is right? How do you know if it’s properly awesome or if it’s just left-field weird? It’s hard to define, but we know it when we see it, and when we stumbled upon six-year-old footage of a first-generation Saab 900 jammed to the brim with Ford power, it clicked: we had something strange and unique, but desirable and worthy on our hands. This little 900 has been V8 swapped using a Ford 5.0L, supercharged, and rear-drive swapped. Care to guess how infuriated Saab-ophiles are with this particular setup? Read the comments…you think people get pissed off about LS swaps, these guys sound ready to form a lynch mob while at the same time crying out about how the original Saab engine would spank the 5.0. You can make your own judgement call with that argument, but for now, we just want to know that this car is still around and doing well! Anybody have any ideas where a green Saab that sounds like a pissed-off Fox body is hiding?

Where’s Geordie? He should be soiling his undies over this swap. Hell I even like this swap, anything RWD is good in my book.

Here I am mate – as I go commando I haven’t any undies to soil. What Saab engine could generate a quarter of the horsepower of this fine Ford? A fine car which reminds me of the black monster that John Sleath use to run in the Uk Street Car Championship.
