We all know that Chad’s weak in the knees for any recreational vehicle that is cool, and he’s also got a thing for small trucks. That means that I might be hearing an earful once the man with the beard sees this setup: a 1981 Toyota SR5 “Sunraider” dually pickup truck and it’s matching 19 foot fifth-wheel Sunraider fifth-wheel travel trailer! Purchased as a package when new, the truck and camper have been well cared for and appear about as nice as two thirty-four year old vehicle can look without being restored. The Toyota is extremely cool…it’s got the 22R four and a five-speed stick, duals, and the neat high roof passenger compartment, and only 21,995 miles on the clock. The Sunraider trailer has a full bathroom, with toilet, shower and sink, a full kitchen complete with a legit stove/oven combination and a hood fan, double kitchen sink, and enough room to sleep four adults comfortably. Finding either one of these vehicles separately in any condition is rare enough, but finding a matching pair that are this nice? There might be a solid chance that Chad is heading up to Washington State right now with cash in hand…
Gee, Pop – what’s that trailer doin’ to that poor pickup?
Well, son – that’s how motor homes are made. When the trailer meets a lady pickup he gets to feelin’ all friendly like and wants to touch her in a special way – then after a time a li’l ol’ motor home pops out of her exhaust..
Wow Pop – can we keep this one?
No Son – I’m plannin’ on drowning it in the creek.
Aw, gee Pop..
That’s about the cleanest 1981 Toyota pickup I’ve seen since 1981. Not a vehicle you usually see preserved that well.
Toured a business in Lakewood, NJ that produced these lengthened Toyotas. It was scary…sawzalls, bad welds along with crappy fiberglass. Thankfully Toyota started to produce their own clubcabs.
Needs a Honda Trail 70 to complete the total package..better yet..A Hodaka ACE 100.
Wow, that is incredibly clean.
Love it!
Know your Toyota trucks –> That is NOT an “SR5” model,
