Daytona Craigslist Find: Vintage 1957 Chevy Race Car

Daytona Craigslist Find: Vintage 1957 Chevy Race Car

Continuing our look at Daytona, Florida, through the eyes of Craigslist, we found a vintage Chevy. This ’57 Chevy is a certified wreck. It’s thrashed, torn, worn, missing half of itself, and yet, we’re in total love. The hacked fender radius job done both on the front and rear and pre-historic roll bar make us really lust after it.

The seller claims to have bought the car from a Florida junkyard years ago with the intention of restoring it back to its racing days. He seems to be claiming that the car was run on the old beach track that was the place to race before Bill France had the Daytona International Speedway constructed. He doesn’t come right out and say it, but the words, “Florida Beach Sand” stand out to us in the ad.

This would be a truly massive project, but it sure would be bitchin to put the car pack together, especially with a retro-neat Rochester fuelie 283 for power.

Three grand for a thrashed 1957 Chevy shell? We’ve seen worse deals.
