Good News: Camaro Sales So Strong Another Shift is Added to Oshawa Plant

Some good news on the General Motors front. The company has decided to add a shift at the Oshawa production plant in Canada to support the demand for the Camaro as well as the 2011 Buick Regal that will be rolled out mid-year.

The plant is located outside of Toronto and has been running a single shift since last year. GM has been surprised by the strong demand for the Camaro, which has received lots of critical praise from the motoring press. The company never revealed what their first year sales projection was for the car, but 61,000 of them went to new homes in 2009.

The 2011 Buick Regal is going to be a sport sedan based on an Opel platform. It’s a decent looking four door, and will be available with you choice of a 2.4L four banger making 182hp or a turbocharged 2L ‘banger making 220 hp.

Yup, we just yawned too.
