eBay Find: A 1968 Buick Electra 225 That Lays Frame and Rubber With a Turbo LS Motor – Magnificent Car!

They literally don’t come any longer and lower than this! We’re fully in love with this professionally built 1968 Buick Electra 225 that has been channeled some three and three quarters inches over the frame and then set on air suspension, allowing it to go as low as is physically possible without actually boring into the Earth. Along with the amazing appearance of the car, there’s performance as well because the huge by large engine bay is housing a single turbo huffed LS2 that has been filled with a COMP Cam and valevtrain along with a pile of other performance goodies.

While the mechanical end of this monster is impressive, it is the paint and bodywork that  leave us drooling. The sheer size and length of the rear quarter panels, hell, of ALL the panels mean that flaws would not only be noticed, they’d be broadcast to the world as the car rolled by of occupied six normal parking spaces at a show. Instead, the Ford creme brule white looks miles deep and flawless. The chrome work appears to be all perfect as well.

The seller gives lots of construction details about the car and we dug that because it shows just how much thought and extra labor went into making this car not only look good but function as well. For instance, the builder widened the transmission and drive shaft tunnel down the center of the car so that the exhaust could be run in side it, allowing the car to roll around super low and not scrape and bang on every ant hill it encountered. The firewall was completely cut out and what you see in the photos was completely hand fabricated. Lots of times in cars like this a “smoothed firewall” is actually a piece of massaged sheet meal in front of the actual firewall as a facade.

We could go on four hours, but we’re seriously loving this big bastard. Long and low usually means slow, but with the turbo LS2 cranking up front, this monster should haul some ass, too. The asking price is a shade under $45,000 and we think that the car is worth the money. When you consider the labor and hours that went into the paint and metal work here, and then start adding up the wheels, tires, suspension components, motor, the cash piles up quick.

Too much like a “lowrider.” “Tru-spoke” style wheels scream “Taco Bell bomb.”

    Ruined.

Rip out that LESS crap and repower it with a proper Buick mill. And add some inner fenders. And decent wheels.

      +1

I don’t get the lowrider approach to cars, although I respect the craftsmanship that’s displayed.
Right about a the Buick power plant. A turbocharged 455 would be my choice.

This has CTX-Sleeper written all over it. I can’t believe he hasn’t posted. That thing is sweet.

Those wheels would have to go but a set of rocket strikes and some wide whites would be mint
