This 1971 AMC Javelin Is One Of The Wildest Customs We’ve Seen, And Can Be Yours!

Question: Who here wants the Hot Wheels car come to life, like the one they had when they were a kid? The one that promised stacks on the engine, a flip-up hood, candy red paint, and a slight bit of confusion when looking at it because you weren’t quite sure what the hell it was you were looking at in the first place? Well, feast your eyes and if you’ve got the dough, place your bid, because the likelihood that you’ll find anything like this bright red beauty anytime soon is near nil.

What you are looking at started life as a 1971 American Motors Javelin, one of the big-body cars with the flared fenders that had that strange wheel hump in the front fenders. They look just plain mean when treated right, but this particular Javelin got more than treated right…it got subjected to a full-kill build that would’ve been magazine cover material in the mid-1990s. From it’s pinched, completely one-off nose to the frenched-in Fairmont Futura taillights, even Dick Teague would look at the shape and mumble something about not recognizing it.

From the listing:

“1971 AMC Javelin custom chopped 2.5 inches sectioned 3 inches , and channeled 5 inches . The car stands 40 inches off the ground and sits completely on a tubular chassis . The engine is a 355 chevy small block with brodix heads and a fast freddy’s fuel injection with 4 webber 48 -IDF carbs . Transmission is a TH350 that is completely polished . The whole body is all hand formed steel . There are graphics both on top and underneath the car and the underneath is painted as nice as the the top . The interier is completely custom leather done by Scott’s custom interior in Louisville KY

3 Time ISCA Custom Champion

The Gene Winfield award winner 2011

BF Goodrich ride of the year 1992

Hundreds of other awards”

Dare to be different? It doesn’t get more different than this!

“a fast freddy’s fuel injection with 4 webber 48 -IDF carbs” just a bit redundant two fuel systems?

Love the body mods, but the SBC. I mean come on! A 401 would be perfect but it at least deserves a 427 rat if you have to go with a Chevy.

If you MUST go with a Chevy 427, do the following mods: 1) Remove the valve covers from the 427 and set them aside. 2) Push the 427 well out of your way.
      3) Install the AMC 401, complete the drive line accordingly, and then drive your correct AMC Javelin the way it was supposed to be driven: All AMC.

Oh and for step 4)…Toss the 427 and valve covers over to some Chevy guy to use on a…wait for it…CHEVY!
