eBay Find: A 1998 Firebird with SEMA and Lingenfelter History

We decided to go hunting for cars with some SEMA show history on eBay, due to the fact that the big show in Las Vegas goes down this week. We managed to find a bunch of awful, lifted, blinged out trucks and this really neat 1998 Firebird. Why is it neat? Not only was it used to debut the G-Force T/A tire for BF Goodrich, but it also sports a 383ci LS1 built by the legendary John Lingenfelter.

Being that the LS1 engine debuted in 1997 Corvettes and first saw action in Camaros and Firebirds in 1998, this is probably one of the earliest stroker versions of the engine. The seller seems to have been directly involved in the construction of the car (which was a joint effort between GM, BF Goodrich, and Goldesberry Motorsports) and has kept usage to a minimum racking up only 1200 miles on the piece.

The motor is good for bout 500hp before the 175hp hit of nitrous comes into play, so the car absolutely hauls ass. It has aged well, too. The wheels still look current, the paint, while screaming yellow, looks OK, and the interior is not too far off from factory stock. Many show cars do not look so hot after they age, but the one is an exception to the rule.

With the great history of being involved with the roll out of a specific tire, the fact that GM had their hands on this thing, and the simple fact that Lingenfelter worked his magic on the motor and did it so early in the history of the LS engine family, this is one ‘Bird we want!
