eBay Find: A Totally Cool 1966 Chevy II Stock Car

eBay Find: A Totally Cool 1966 Chevy II Stock Car

Chevy II restorers be warned, the larger photos of this car will have your stomach flopping. The wheel wells were clearly opened with a Sawz-All, the car rides on a 1955 Chevy chassis, and the only real ’66 Chevy II parts and pieces are the body shell draped over the roll cage. We think that this little car flat out rules! It runs in a vintage stock car racing series down south currently, but with the popularity of that type racing blowing up all over the place, beating on this car wouldn’t be tough to arrainge.

The car has a reliable 350ci Chevy crate engine, a three speed transmission (which we’re guessing is an auto), a Ford 9″ rear eng packed with 5.67(!) cogs. This is no super speedway runner, that is for sure! The little Chevy is turn key, ready to go, and has updated instruments and safety gear to boot!

The “buy it now” price of $7,000 seems pretty good to us, especially for a car you could literally have on the track tomorrow. The vinage stock car racing scene seems like a riot. This would be an awesome first step into that realm!
