Cool Project: Holley’s 1987 Grand Prix – Project G-Force One

Cool Project: Holley’s 1987 Grand Prix – Project G-Force One

When the guys at Holley decide to do a car, they really do it right! Such is the case with the company’s Project G-Force One, a 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix build that will end up being one bad ass Pro Touring car. Sporting a completely trick Art Morrison chassis, 515hp LS3 topped with Holley EFI, a T56 six-speed, Detroit Speed’s brand new G-Body suspension and a host of other parts, this baby will be an organ shifter. The base car itself is a neat piece.

Bought from the GM collection when the company was purging some of the less significant models a while back, this car is serial number 0001 and only had 70 miles on it when it was torn apart to start the build. The photos of the underside are a riot. There’s no rust on the shocks, the springs still have their paper tages, and the rear differential cover looks clean enough to eat off of.

The G-Force One name comes from the fact that Holley’s president will be rolling in this car. It’ll be his ride to drive and beat the snot out of at every occasion, like the Holley LS Fest!

An interesting note of connection between Holley and the Pontiac Grand Prix. Richard Petty won his 200th race in a Poncho equipped with a Holley carb. The whole thing comes full circle!
