We probably should be callous to this stuff by now, but we’re not. We shouldn’t be shocked, or even mildly surprised when unicorn-esque speed parts show up on eBay, but we turn into giddy 10 year olds when we see stuff like this “Smokey Ram” for sale. We wouldn’t be able to afford it without selling one of our kids, but we can still lust after it. While it may not be the ultimate horsepower making intake, it would certainly draw a crowd every time your hood was raised.

Making this particular intake manifold even more rare is the fact that it is a very early model and really looks like a prototype as some of the surfaces and finishes are not what one would expect out of a product that was churned out in any volume (even low volume). The seller is asking $2,000 as the buy it now price. If you’re restoring an old NASCAR racer or Can Am car, that’s probably peanuts, and it would complete any “period” Chevy race car project of the late 1960s.
