eBay Pick of the Week: 1962 LaBoa MKII Corvair Special

eBay Pick of the Week: 1962 LaBoa MKII Corvair Special

This week’s eBay Pick is a killer little one-off road racing car from 1962. Creativity was the word back then and this Corvair powered, tube chassis, stressed skin, Lotus lookalike is a great example of that.

The seller is honest in saying that the car did not have a glorious history of race wins or significant performance records, but who the hell cares. Buying this car and racing it in vintage competitons, open track days, and hill climbs would be hella fun.

The car was commissioned by a man in Ohio back in 1962 who had a local machine shop construct the car. The original owner died some time ago and the car changed hands a few times and was actually street driven for many years.

It was constructed with the ability to swallow any number of engines and apparently the owner settled on Corvair power because he had connections with a Chevy dealer and had an ownership stake in a local used car lot.

This thing is beyond cool.
