More Cool Muscle Cars From The 2014 Boonesborough Boogie Nationals -Neat Stuff Abounds

(Photos by Doug Gregory) – We’re back with more sweet muscle cars from the Boonesborough Boogie Nationals. Doug Gregory pounded out the photos from this show and used his normal strategy of avoiding the boring cars and concentrating on the cool stuff. In this collection that means that there are some sweet Mopars and other nuggets of automotive goodness to behold. Like the rest of us, Doug is starting to wind his car show attending operating down for the winter but fear not, he is delving into his archive of old film photos (remember those?!)  and he’ll have some neat stuff for us to gawk at through the winter while we all shiver and await the coming of spring and “car season” once again.

My favorite car in here may be the Carousel Red (same as Hugger Orange) GTO Judge. I have a special affinity for those guys because back in 2007 or so I was involved in a story with Hot Rod Magazine called “Road Thrash” where we took a bunch of hot rods, modified, and stock muscle cars out into the canyons of California and pounded on them pretty good. I spent a while in a GTO Judge almost identical to the one in this gallery and learned a valuable lesson. Manual, four wheel drum brakes are scary as hell after you charge through the bends once or twice. At the time I had never experienced the kind of brake fade I did when I stepped on the pedal of that car when the group was slowing down. Why do I remember it so clearly? The car I was closing fast on was the frigging F-Bomb Camaro, which was still brand new at the time! Lesson learned!

To be fair, there’s no brake fade in this gallery, just a bunch of WIN!
