Normally Bob Chiluk is sending us galleries from the Chicago car scene, but he escaped the Fall doldrums and went out to California recently for a week or cars and surfing. We hate him too. Anyway, he shot a bunch of galleries for us and this is the first one, a dispatch from SoCal’s legendary cruise night at Bob’s Big Boy.
Aside from the star power this baby draws (Jay Leno, et al), the cars are normally awesome to boot. Murray Pfaff was on hand with his wild Imperial Speedster, you’ll see a real deal 427 Shelby Cobra, roadsters and rods to die for, and one little Rambler that is so dorky it rules.
As the leaves fall and the temps plummet in most of the country, this gallery is just what the doctor ordered. We’ll be bringing you all to California this weekend LIVE and FREE during our webcast of the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion, starting tomorrow, but let this serve as a teaser!
Thanks to Bob Chiluk for the great photos!
CRUISE GALLERY: BOB’S BIG BOY CRUISE NIGHT
I’ve known Bob for 40 years. Everything he does is perfect. His cars, his Schwinn Krate and Honda 50 restorations, his skill at stacking bricks, and his photography. He is truly a gearhead you should know.
“He is truly a gearhead you should know”
until he needs any electrical work done…hahaha
I’ve known him for over 50 years, but yeah he’s pretty anal about his stuff…and it rubbed off on me.
