We’re on a Canadian Mopar hot streak around here! Earlier this week we had “Fast Ed” Nicholson’s coverage of the Canadian Mopar Fest, and now here’s a gallery from BangShift.com forum member “Not a Duster” featuring the Southy Mopar Muscle Meet. Who’d have thunk all this cool Mopar iron would end up in the wilds of the great white north!

Here’s what Not a Duster had to say about the show and its cool history.

“This is the “Southey Mopar Muscle Meet” held every year in the small town (less than 1,000 people) of Southey in rural Saskatchewan, Canada.

Despite its small size, Southey is home to one of Western Canada’s best Chrysler dealerships, owned and operated by the Ritter Family for over 50 years. For just over 25 years, the dealership has hosted this event on or around the Father’s day weekend. Cars typically come from all over Western Canada, as the event has become something of a yearly homecoming for many.

Attendance was down this year, likely due to sketchy weather, which threatened rain all day Saturday and delivered on the threat Saturday Evening and Sunday.

Most of us put our cars away in the town arena to get them out of the weather Sunday, and changed the decision to pull the pin early on the event when cars starting showing up anyway…most of them driven through the pouring rain, some for many many miles. Mopar guys are nothing if not stubborn.

So they got us all crammed in. There wasn’t too much room to walk around, but we enjoyed the second day despite the weather.”

We could so start cracking jokes about a Canadian car show ending up in a hockey rink, but we won’t. This is one killer mix of Mopars.
