New Hampshire is the “Live Free or Die” state, which apparently means you can live free as long as you don’t do something your neighbors don’t like. A New Hampshire couple’s plans to build a drag strip on their private property have met with swift resistence from townspeople, who are now looking for quick zoning changes to kill the project.

If a strip cannot be built in a very small town in rural New Hampshire, we can’t envision a place where one could or would be built. Neighbors and townspeople fear the noise and increased traffic on their roads from people towing cars and travling to the track. God forbid that those people may spend money to benefit the local economy.
