(Words and photos by Joe Grippo) – Harry Fleming is a South Jersey legend and every year in early November he and his friends put on what is quietly becoming one the best attended, unique car show experiences in the area. Using his expansive auto parts yard, Harry and company load in some of the northeast’s coolest Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Tractors, Big Rigs, Hit & Miss Motors and much more. I go to a ton of shows and events each year but the variety of cool stuff that shows up at the Pumpkin Run along with the setting, always assures it one of the first circled days on my new calendar. One the big attractions each year, is the strong showing of Vintage Dirt Track warriors like Late Models, Sprinters, Midgets and Modifieds all shined up and on display. Fleming was a long time sponsor of many local race teams and has taken on the responsibility of preserving the history of many gone but not forgotten race tracks that dotted the South Jersey landscape. For 2012 another structure was added to house more memorabilia. Vintage helmets, Jackets, Engines, Speed Parts, Track Programs and Scrap Books lined the walls for everyone to check out. Great stuff.
