(Words and photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) – This past weekend was a huge weekend for car shows, cruise ins and racing, and Tommy Lee Byrd double dipped by attending the Mitty vintage road race event on Friday (check out the gallery if you missed it) and then stopped by the Main Street Cruise-In on Saturday.
The cruise in, held in downtown Cleveland, Tennessee, is a monthly affair, held on the fourth Saturday of every month (from April to October) from 1pm to 6pm. The city of Cleveland blocks off a huge area of the historic downtown area, and those streets quickly fill with hundreds of classic cars. The Cleveland Cruise In also has a swap meet, and lots of local vendors.
Hundreds of cars swarmed the downtown area, and we grabbed photos of some of our favorites. At the top of our list are the home built, front-engine go cart, the American Graffiti Deuce five window, and a couple of really cool survivor hot rods from the ‘50s. We also dig the 409-powered Chevy’s, and the Pro Street ‘Cuda and Challenger.
