(Photos by Joe Grippo) – The York US30 Reunion and Muscle Car Madness show has become one of the biggest and coolest nostalgia drag racing and car shows in the country. The event celebrates the history of a track that could be argued as the most important strip in the history of door slammer drag racing. It hosted the Super Stock Nationals for years which was an epic battle royale that pitted every hard core factory stock and super stock racer from around the country against each other and had major sway on the performance car buying populace of the era. When a manufacturer won that race and the word spread, it was guaranteed sales and street cred. The winners had names like Tasca Ford, Bill Jenkins, Sox and Martin, etc. It was THE race to win with a car equipped with doors. Dragsters and Floppers stay home!
