(Photos by Johnny Gaudette) – For many years, there was a titanic car show that took place in Worcester, Massachusetts each July 4th weekend. Known as the “Summer Nationals” this show was amazing because police essentially waived several traffic laws and there were burnout contests on public streets along with open header cruising and all sorts of other tomfoolery. A dispute with the guy putting the event on brought the fun to an end several years ago but another show (a more subdued one) has taken the place of the Summer Nationals and it is known as the “Cars of Summer” car show. Our summer vacationing high school cub reporter Johnny Gaudette was on the scene with his camera and he blasted the gallery we linked to below.

The cool thing is that Johnny has some pretty awesome taste for a dude in high school. He keyed in on the neatest cars as the show. The Cadillac station wagon is freaking bad ass, the tattered Plymouth wagon is BangShifty perfection, and the pro street Firebird is all angry and awesome looking. There’s not a boring car in the bunch here and we think you will agree when you look through this group of photos.
