Somernites Fall Cruise Coverage: More Of The Cool Muscle And Stuff That You Love

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –  Yes, I’ve gone all crazy and jumbled the pictures up into no categories or chronological ordering.  Its all part of my plan to finish off that little bit of OCD that remains within me.  Likely it will never totally disappear.  I’m sure it won’t be long and I will be arranging them by color, year, make, model and/or genre.  If only I’d take the time to sort nuts, bolts, and assorted other hardware out in the shop so I could find stuff.  Its always something.
The downtown portion of the event starts at 1pm and there is always a line to get in.  The staff moves things along pretty quickly so don’t get your britches in a bunch because you got to wait some.  Everyone does it and its worth it.  Since no attendance records were in danger for this event we strolled along with no urgency and it was a pleasant change from rushing around trying to find hidden gems we’d missed.  There will always be something we miss so there is no use in being disappointed when you spot something moving that you’d missed.

Some highlights in this collection:

The pale yellow ’57 with the tunnel-rammed SBC and steelies out back.  Mmmm.

440-powered, red Chysler Cordoba LS.  Something you don’t see around anymore.

Pale-colored bug was spotless and turbo’d.  So clean.

Simple, burgundy Mustang fastback complete with side pipes.  Vroom.

Enjoy.
