Woodward Dream Cruise 2016: Waking Up To The Sounds Of Yesterday

Woodward Dream Cruise 2016: Waking Up To The Sounds Of Yesterday

With only a few hours to shoot the action on Saturday, I faced a dilemma: did I take a ton of photos or did I use my time to shoot live video? Truth was, I did both, because I was starting to get overwhelmed. By the time Dan from MSHS had appeared (and with him, the donuts, coffee, and the one yellow jacket with a sweet tooth that really wanted to become my new best friend ever), the Dream Cruise might as well have been on in full force. In reality, the official time was an hour away, but telling a bunch of gearheads to be patient and wait until ten in the morning was about as successful as baptizing a cat. With the sun out and a chance of thunderstorms for the afternoon, if there was gas in the tank, the car was going to go out cruising. The hard part to grasp is that your pics are in the Pontiac loop – one of the lower traffic parts of the cruise. By 10 o’clock Saturday the Royal Oak sections were already reaching bumper to bumper status. I’ll be that 70% of the cars never make it out to Pontiac!

I love the area between 13 mile and 15 mile. There are the Mopar, Buick/GMC and Chevrolet displays with the street jammed and lots of hot rods. Lots of cars in the park at Woodward and 13 Mile.

Looks like you spent all your time in Pontiac for some reason. Too bad you missed most of it. Go to Royal Oak next year. Lot of cool stuff that’s parked that you will never see if you don’t move around.
