Former GM CEO Fritz Henderson Now Consulting For GM, Making $3,000 per hour

It’s good to be Fritz. After getting whacked from his position atop GM back in February, Fritz Henderson is back on the GM payroll as a consultant. He’s making $59,090 a month and he has to work at least 20 hours to get it. We wonder if Henry Ford would consider this a “fair day’s wage for a fair day’s work”?

CNN.com reported on the story first and spoke to some “insiders” who said that the ex-leader still has the respect and admiration of many within the company and although he was pushed out by Ed Whitacre, Henderson is no slouch and has lots of experience in global operations.

The “insiders” also defended the position, but if Henderson is really working 20 hours a month and continues to rake in $59,090, we think that’s bull puckey. We think the “insiders” probably had something to do with the decision to bring him back in some capacity.

Initially we were suprised to hear he went back, after being forced out and all, but for that kind of money, we’d be there with bells on.
