A couple of weeks ago we told you to check out the very cool profile on Aeromotive founder and head honcho Steve Matusek on the MotoBlog at Motovicity.com. Steve’s story was one of a series that the MotoBlog crew is running, highlighting some of the neatest and most inspirational success stories in the high performance aftermarket world. This week they spotlighted Tom Lieb, the forward thinking founder of Scat Enterprises.
Scat is a cool company for many reasons one of which is that we have and you have probably put an engine together with a Scat crank in it at some point in your life. The company have been in business for half a century and Tom shows no signs of slowing down. He’s not a guy that floats in once or twice a week. Lieb is an active part of the operation that’ll do everything from running a fork truck to manning machines on a day to day basis.
An impressive fact that we learned in the story is that Scat works closely with OEMs to supply cranks for prototype and experimental engines as well as cranks for crate engine programs as well. That is pretty impressive stuff for a business started by one man a half century ago. The MotoBlog guys have a great interview with Tom, hit the link to read it.
