Last weekend was the yearly Arizona automotive auction orgy. Barrett Jackson went down and the Russo and Steele auction also happened. Luckily for us, BangShifter Remy-Z hit both events and he had his camera with him. He sent us along a nice collection of photos that hit some cool highlights amongst the huge crowds of cars that crossed each block.
Prices of stuff continued on their downward trend from the insanity that was 2005-2007. There’s still boat loads of cars and trucks selling north of $100,000 but the cars doing it have the provenance and quality to get there. We can all remember the totally amazing bidder wars on seemingly innocuous cars during the “halo” years of Barrett Jackson. Those battles still happen but they are not happening in the upper reaches of the financial atmosphere.
Remy’s photos highlight just how many unique cars are a part of these events. Even if you have zero intention of buying anything, it would still be a bitchin’ pair of events to attend just to cruise the tents and rows of cars. Although if you fall too deeply under the spell of the auction house you may find yourself bidding on something and making an uncomfortable call home to your spouse.
