Without moms, there would be no hot rodding, plain and simple. All of us here at BangShift would like to wish moms in all corners of the globe a happy Mother’s Day today and express our gratitude to all of the mothers who have supported the efforts of gearheads in their respective families. From packing sandwiches into a cooler for a day at the races, to slinging wrenches in the pits, helping establish race tracks, and moms have been there every step of the way in the history of hot rodding. They ran the clocks at early drag strips, handed out time slips, and loaned racers money to get the stuff they needed for the coming weekend’s activities.
On a more personal level, mom’s forced a smile when they saw you tearing your car apart in the driveway because they knew it’s what made you the happiest and ultimately formed you into what you are today. Moms provided a willing ear, shoulder to lean on, and a ham sandwich when the job that was supposed to take two hours lasted three days. No moms = no hotrodding. That simple.
FROM MCTAGGART, CHAD AND I TO YOU AND YOURS, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! HUG A MOM, VISIT HER WHEREVER SHE MAY BE, AND FOR GOD’S SAKE, DON’T WRENCH IN HER DRIVEWAY…AT LEAST FOR TODAY!
Mom’s riveting on her day?…she should be home being pampered. Maybe she’s building a streamliner for Bonneville(?) 🙂
This picture isn’t of mothers, it’s of the reason most of America get raised by daycares and state mandated school systems.
