Wisconsin College Kids Get Engines to Run on (Mostly) Water

We hope there are no black helicopters circling the east coast BangShift.com HQ or any strange oil company representatives knocking at our door for reporting this story. A group of kids and a professor at the University of Wisconsin have developed a self-generating hydrogen system that has shown 20 percent fuel economy increases on vehicles where it has been used.

A story from the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinal claims the system uses electricity from the battery and alternator to split water into hydrogen and oxygen to create an additional fuel source. The end goal of the project is to develop a car that runs on water only.

This sounds like a lot of the other “self generating” hydrogen mobiles. Are we missing something?
