Thanks to BangShifter Barry Thornberry, we have leaned of an upcoming auction to be held in May which is liquidating a collection of Ford NOS parts (most in original boxes), race car chassis, engines, and pieces, shop equipment, and Ford “stuff” the likes of which we have never seen. We thought for sure that this was an old dealer being liquidated off but when we searched out the address of the auction on popular mapping sites, we found the place you see in the photo below…it is a private residence! Our guess is that the person who accumulated all this stuff bought out the old inventory of at least a couple dead car dealers over the years because there is no chance a person could amass all of this NOS stuff from simply trolling swap meets and other events. There are shelves and shelves of stuff the likes of which we have never seen, outside of Then and Now Automotive in Weymouth, Massachusetts. There’s enough pistons alone here to rebuilt half the flatheads in existence today!
There are old porcelain dealership signs that will fetch huge stacks of cash to go along with the parts, but frankly that’s not the whole story. The stuff that’s really spinning our collection cranks around here is the shop equipment and race car stuff. With respect to the shop equipment there are multiple mills, lathes, bandsaws, welders, a lift, and a general collection that seems to indicate that this place was a hot rod shop or at least one of the most bad ass personal fabrication outfits that we have seen. The race car stuff we mentioned is largely old sprint car frames, hemi parts, axles, wheels, headers, wings, and body panels.
We could go on and on about this truly huge cavern of Ford treasure, but the auction site does a better job listing all the stuff and providing dozens upon dozens of photos that serve as proof of the sheer volume of stuff they are selling. The auction is coming on May 17th and 18th so if you are in the Ford restoration business, are a collector of Ford stuff, or simply want to see one of the most gargantuan collections of NOS Ford parts we have ever seen or heard of, get to Nebraska that weekend!
Is there something in the water out in Nebraska? Few months back was that that big Chevrolet auction, now this one.
I’m pretty much a pack-rat, but this boggles even my mind.
I live in Nebraska and don’t know about this tell now.
If I was a Ford guy there’d be a wet spot in my jeans after looking at all that.
I would like to get that sign though. But it’s not worth the 18 hour drive on the chance I might be high bidder.
