In a joint press release Impact Racing Products and SFI have come to an agreement that will allow Impact products made in 2009 and 2010 to remain certified. This is a big break for racers who have that equipment and were facing a big spend to replace it.
The press release states that Impact has provided sworn testimony that was reviewed and investigated. That testimony stated that no fake labels were used on anything made in 2009 and 2010. They also swore in court that everything produced in 2009 and 2010 meets SFI specs.
The document also states that Impact will work with SFI to monitor the quality of their products and to make sure that all the labels on them are legit. They will also continue to test products, even those made in 2009 and 2010, to ensure that they meet the performance standards that they are certified for.
Lastly, if you have Impact gear and it does not have the date of manufacture on it, you need to immediately contact Impact to get data. In turn, Impact needs to tell SFI about each and every time they receive a call like this.
An unrelated, but weird, fact is that Bill Simpson seems to sign his name with a smiley face at the end of it. Check out the press release at the link below.
