MAHLE Motorsport Introduces PowerPak Piston Kit for the GM 4.3L Turbo Syclone/Typhoon
Fletcher, NC, (July 17, 2018)…MAHLE Motorsport’s GM 4.3L turbo PowerPak Piston Kit is designed to allow these two highly capable GM powerplants to reach their full potential. The vehicles’ original equipment pistons are a cast hypereutectic construction that are very limited in their ability to withstand additional increases in horsepower.
MAHLE Motorsport’s new PowerPak pistons in the new PowerPak Piston kit utilizes MAHLE’s slipper skirt forgings; each machined to exacting tolerances on equipment manufactured by MAHLE specifically for OE piston production. For added protection and durability, the pistons are dual-coated with a phosphate dry film lubricant to protect the ring grooves from micro-welding and the pin bores from galling. This is followed by an application of MAHLE’s Grafal® anti-friction skirt coating to reduce drag, wear and noise.
The GM 4.3L Turbo Syclone/Typhoon PowerPak Kit includes a complete ring set composed of 1.0mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm HV385 all steel rings for a significant improvement in strength, sealing and oil control with a reduction in drag, wear and weight.
