Hilarious Video: Marshal Spaz-Dances Before WEC Race in Japan

Sometimes, you just have to bust a move. This marshal at the FIA World Endurance Championship’s 6 Hours of Fuji race broke out literally every dance move in the book before the race’s start. There’s just about everything except The Carlton and Elaine’s kickin’ moves from Seinfeld. We’re not really sure what music is playing and, frankly, there probably wasn’t any. That doesn’t make it any less entertaining.

The race soon proved one of the most intense races of the WEC calendar with all three LMP1 manufacturers—Audi, Toyota, and Porsche—battling throughout the race and trading positions as pace and fuel strategies ebbed and flowed. Ultimately, the #6 Toyota came out on top by just 1.5 seconds with the lead #8 Audi closing in the race’s waning moments. It was Toyota’s first win of the year and a welcome accomplishment in front of a home crowd that was at least some minor redemption after their crushing defeat at Le mans.

The cost-caped LMP2 class also saw some of the best sports car racing of the entire season, possibly ever in the class. All six hours saw teams juggling strategies and trading the top spot; in the end, former F1 driver Will Stevens passed Filipe Albuquerque to give G-Drive Racing their first win of the year. The GTE classes were dominated from flag-to-flag by the #67 Ford GT (GTE-PRO) and the #98 Aston Martin V8 Vantage (GTE-AM).

At the MotoGP race at Laguna in 2005 my buddies and I were corner working turn 6 and Mark and I were doing air guitar with our brooms after a sweep when the Dorna people saw us on camera and contacted our group captain and told him to tell us to knock it off. So I’m all for this guy……..do it………..
