MSD DYNAFORCE Alternators: A Race Alternator That Works

MSD DYNAFORCE Alternators: A Race Alternator That Works

I’ve always found it incredibly annoying to race with someone that doesn’t have an alternator on their race car. Even worse is the guy that has one but it is so poorly installed it might as well not be there. Hooking up chargers between rounds, pulling out the jump box to start the car, and all that crap just drive me nuts. An alternator doesn’t take hardly anything to spin, so it’s not going to cost you the race from a horsepower perspective, but that doesn’t mean you should run down to Pep O’Zone Auto Parts for a rebuild unit and slap it on your race car.

Racing applications tend to have much increased RPM over a street application, and race ignitions and other electronics have very specific voltage requirements. MSD’s new DynaForce  Racing Alternators solve both issues with adjustable voltage regulators and precision balancing. The new DynaForce Racing Alternators are built right here in the USA, using ALL NEW PARTS. No refurbished or rebuilt parts are used in their manufacturing, and they undergo some serious testing. With 50 and 100 amp models available, they’ve got you covered.

MSD DynaForce Racing Alternators

El Paso, TX– With over 40 years’ experience with ignition systems for race cars, MSD knows what it takes to get the most from your ignition. One of the most important components that ties all of your racecar’s electronics together is the alternator. That is exactly why MSD has developed the DynaForce Racing Alternator.

The DynaForce Race Alternators are available in two models; a 50 Amp and 100 Amp. The 50 Amp model is built in a compact housing and designed for lower content racing such as dirt track cars. The 100 amp is designed for drag racing and cars with higher current requirements.

Both feature one wire technology to keep wiring at a minimum. A great feature is that both DynaForce models feature an adjustable voltage output. A simple turn of a dial allows the unit to be used with a 12 or 16 volt battery. Also, since these are built to handle racing rpm, MSD incorporated a fan baffle to protect the belt.

  • Designed for maximum output from low speeds to high rpmMade in the USA
  • Dual plane balanced rotor assembly delivers high rpm precision and reliability
  • Blue-printed assembly process ensures superior operation and longevity
  • Accepts charging for either a 12 volt or 16 volt electrical system
  • Hand assembled in the USA and NEVER rebuilt or refurbished units
  • One wire installation keeps wiring at a minimum

50 Amp, 12/16 volts – PN 5375

100 Amp, 12/16 volts – PN 5380

I sure hope MSD gets this alternator program right. I was DNF’ed from the Popular Hot Rodding Musclecar of the Year event because my MSD alternator was grenading internally. Eating itself alive. There’s video of me on the PHR site being the asshead Lohnes describes in the copy – trying to pull-start my car because the alternator was no longer charging. MSD erased any history that they had an alternator program and would not warranty my expensive unit. Not happy with these guys
