We knew it was only a matter of time before FAST: Fuel Air Spark Technologies decided to bring out their own line of Capacitive Discharge ignition systems for hot rods, street machines, muscle cars, and race cars, and boy did they ever here at PRI. We’d seen a few things at SEMA, but here at PRI they brought it ALL. Their new systems are designed to work on carbureted or fuel injected engines and give you lots of options to choose a system that has the features you want. And because they are FAST, they are designed to connect easily with your FAST EFI regardless of the system you are using.
Capacitive Discharge ignition systems like these give a hotter and longer spark with multiple strikes of the spark plug at each spark plug firing. And because these units are fully potted into the circuit boards there is less electronic noise or interference than you are used to seeing. This makes the new FAST CD Ignition Systems happy when working with sensitive EFI electronics which is a good thing.
Rev limiters, timing curves, and more can be adjusted with our without EFI and a laptop. And they have a complete line of distributors, coils, and accessories that go with them. In fact, their lineup of distributors got us excited since their small cap distributor is so stinkin small! In addition to coils for EFI and carbureted applications using a distributor, they have also taken care of you coil on plug guys like the LS freaks we all know and love out there. But don’t think for a second that you can do coil on plug on your tradition small block Chevy, Ford, or Mopar, because you absolutely can.

With the XR700 and Firewire names, not to mention the shape of the extrusion, it sounds like they’ve bought the old Crane lineup. I don’t recognize the E7, though; it looks like there’s something new there.
A little disappointed they didn’t use the same sort of billet enclosures the rest of the FAST lineup used. FAST is typically pretty good at consistent branding.
Yeah you could see the crane blue plastic distributor caps where the black paint was scratched off. Was told it is the old crane stuff at least the pieces we had asked about.
