Well kids, this is amazing. Racepak has revealed new stuff that they have been working on for years and it is mind-boggling cool. Vantage Technology from Racepak is a literal game changer in the world of racing data acquisition and how it can be consumed. Basically what we are talking about here is live, cloud based data acquisition that can be seen  and watched from anywhere on Earth REAL TIME. Not just by someone at the track but by someone on the other side of the Earth if you wanted to!

Gone are the days of going out onto the track, coming back into the pits, removing your memory card from the data recorder, downloading into your computer, and then checking stuff out. Nope, what happens now is that you install the unit into your car and it not only takes all of the data points that you want but it sends that information to the cloud as it is recording the data!

We have two videos for you below and they are both very much worth watching. The first video has our pal Tim Anderson from Racepak explaining the system, explaining what it does and how it does what it does but it also talks about why the company has spent the time and resources to develop Vantage Technology. Under that video is the product debut of this awesomeness in the form of the Racepak CL1 unit for the karting market. Make no mistake about it, this Vantage Technology is coming all the way through the Racepak product line but it is starting in the karting world. Don’t get too jealous road racers, drag racers, pullers, and others. Nope, your day is coming as well. Just stick around and watch what the engineers at Racepak cook up for you.

There’s not been a change this large in the world of racing data acquisition for about 20 years. Seriously. This is a massive, massive deal. The ability of people to remote tune cars, to remotely monitor their racing operation, or to just plain share data. Tim talks about accessing the data on your phone or other device when you want to see it and how it is basically always there when you want it.

Imagine the other implications of this, even on the entertainment side. Imagine a screen in someone’s pits projecting all the stuff that is happening with the car live! The possibilities here are both endless and epic. THIS IS AWESOME.
