When we ran into Jay Brown of FE Power at the 2016 PRI Show he was excited to tell us about a new offering from his company. Many of you know of Jay Brown through his success at Hot Rod Magazine Drag Week in a succession of FE Ford powered cars. This is a guy who has taken camera powered vehicles on drag week multiple times, he has literally written the definitive book on FE engine intake manifolds, and has now gone into the business of manufacturing hardcore parts for these iconic engines.
His latest offering is an adapter that can be bolted to an FE engine which allows intake manifolds designed for 351 Cleveland engines to be bolted to them. If you first question is, “Why?” we understand but Brown had a quick answer. The reality is that there’s a pretty limited selection of intakes for anyone really wanting to make some power with an FE engine and the 351C has a far broader availability of hardcore intakes that can help make some real steam.
Most FE engines are built to maintain a nostalgia look or feeling. These parts are not for that situation at all. They are for the racers, the street brawlers, and for those looking to wring every last horsepower out of their vintage big block. These spacers change a lot of what FE guys have become used to. You’ll have the ability to swap an intake without pulling the valve covers, yanking the distributor, or having any of the other typical issues. There’s an o-ring sealed panel for quick access to the lifter valley, and Jay can custom machine these to your needs. He is literally making them himself. Don’t need pushrod holes? Need them moved? Running offset rockers that require some tweaking to the design? Just tell him where they need to be.
There are versions for the medium and high riser along with a version for tunnel port heads as well. These are hardcore parts for those with hardcore needs. We dig!
Jay drives Cammer powered cars in drag week not Camera powered cars, Thanks Lance
Finest upgrade for one of the finest ford engines made and designed.
