We can’t call them Scotch-Brite because that is a brand name, but the abrasive pads that you are used to in grey and green and red, etc are what we are talking about, except in a tightly packed 4.5 inch angle grinder wheel. These discs look really cool, do a great job of cleaning material, and don’t remove material like a traditional grinding, sanding, or flap disc would. I use flap discs like a mad man, and I love what they do, but there are times when something like an abrasive bad on the wheel would be perfect for cleaning and prepping material for welding, or for polishing up welds after you are done. I imagine these would be really nice to use on aluminum parts too.
In this video the Fab Forums talks about them and gives a link where you can find these particular ones for sale. I’m going to have to ad these to my list of must buy items, because I have a feeling these are going to be one of those items you get and then ask yourself why you took so long to find them. When that happens, I try to convince myself that they are brand new and just came out so that I don’t beat myself up for not having had them for years before.
Check out the video, and if you try them out then let us know what you think.
