ABANDONED 1955 Chevy Nomad Update: Why Dan Hates His 1955 Chevy Nomad – PLUS How Uncle Tony’s Garage Is Killing Hot Rodding

ABANDONED 1955 Chevy Nomad Update: Why Dan Hates His 1955 Chevy Nomad – PLUS How Uncle Tony’s Garage Is Killing Hot Rodding

Is Dan over this thing? Does he really hate Uncle Tony? Check out the latest where stupid expensive glass is going into this thing, and Dan throws Tony under the bus.

Well, the forgotten project Nomad is moving right along! It’s been painted and now some of that paint is going away in favor of some other paint, and some oil and who knows what else to make it look all old and barn find ish. Check it out.

It started out as less car than he thought it was, but that just means the progress on this thing is sort of fluid. And so is the plan for it, which is why the thing is now a gasser! Just look at it now. In this latest build video the thing is getting cheap paint. Yes, ultra cheap paint is going onto a real Nomad. WTF? Watch.

DD Speed Shop has no shortage of project cars and somehow this one was completely forgotten. I don’t know how that’s possible, but man I’m glad they have such cool ones to remember, like this 1955 Nomad. Check it out and see what’s coming next right here!

Video Description:

Here’s the down low on having a low production “rare” hot rod. Parts are expensive AND hard to find! That means everything will take more time that you expect. The biggest hang up on this car…. Is everyone thinks it should be restored back to factory. I hate to say it, but shiny restored cars just aren’t for me.

You think life is tough for you and your 55 Nomad ? I have problems too–I,m working on a 56 Pontiac Safari. A cousin to the Nomad. As most of the parts from the belt line up are the same, everything else is one off. You talk about COST,try paying the prices for some of these parts. Just get over it and pay up—and be glad you have a rare 55 Nomand.(wanna trade). I’ve owned mine for over30 years-she been on the road since last summer-not completely done(they never are)but fun to have and enjoy.

A look-a-like? Who the hell else looks like a greasy homeless gypsy other than Dan? Even UTG Tony looks more sophisticated than he does. Dan’s not out for fame, he’s just having fun!

A guy building hot rods in his garage with his own two hands.

I’d rather watch that than a checkbook build any day.

Dan’s not a look-alike or wanna be anything, which is what makes him refreshing.

I started watching Dan when the lockdowns started – he was working on his second 2 door conversion at the time. He’s honest and funny and is one of the true shade tree mechanics on YT. He makes me want to wrench on my own and makes me believe I can, even if I don’t have a lift or a ton of tools.

It’s been fun watching him grow as a mechanic as he does more and has more resources. He has grown since then from 20,000 odd subscribers to over 100,000, so I know I am not alone in appreciating his work.

I don’t always agree with his takes (what’s with this mania for hood scoops?), but I always look forward to finding a notification for a new video, and I know it will never be boring.

Keep it up Dan and Danni!
