BangShift Project Files: The Project C3 Corvette Build Continues: Big Pipes, Big Block, Big Dog…

We follow forum member SuperBuickGuy’s builds because he is absolutely meticulous in detail and entertaining as he progresses on a project…whichever one he is spinning wrenches on this week. Lately we’ve been watching as his second C3 Corvette project comes together. After building one and selling it off, apparently the itch for another plastic fantastic hot rod couldn’t be ignored, and this time around he’s going for the full monty on the deal: a big block, side pipes, some body kit work and hopefully, by the springtime, it’s out on the road scaring the wildlife. If the last car was any indication, it’ll handle itself just fine.

The car isn’t meant to do more than to put a big smile on the attorney’s face and to not kill him in the process. So long as he sticks to the plan, he’ll be good. The side pipes are on, the Rat is installed, and if you step into the Forums now, you can see the beginning point where this disco Vette gets it’s big, bold flares. That is, if a quick stop to Jack In The Box for a cibatta bacon burger doesn’t sidetrack him…

Ya need to clean up that engine bay. Suggestions 1 call street & performance in Mina AR. and get there low mount alt bracket. 2 get a 1 wire small alt. 3 get rid of that upper radiator hose. the 69 big block will fit and look nicer. 4 get a water neck that has a 1/2″pipe hole in it. You will need this to fill the radiator. the water neck is above the radiator inlet cap. cover up the wire with the new stuff from painless wiring . I did all that to my 69 vette stocker. Larry

I haven’t got to the wiring yet*, the same with the radiator hose (note, no clamps), or the radiator (that also needs the fans attached). As for low mounting the alternator – that’s the only one that fits… thanks for following along.

*not just that but the previous owner is following along, so I’ll not be calling him out.
