Regulars around here know that Michael Bello, owner of Bello’s Kustoms, is one of our favorite metal shaping and car building characters. He’s way into this, has fun laughing and poking fun at himself, and at the same time makes metal shaping look simple and easy. His shop always has a couple of projects in the works, and they build fun stuff that is custom but meant to be driven. This 1936 Ford project is a special one that has had a ton of work done to it, but now that it is getting closer to paint, Bello isn’t entirely happy with the shape of the factory trunk lid and wants to do something custom to make it look like it was supposed to be a part of this car rather than an afterthought. He’s going to change the shape completely, and this is Part 1 of this process.
