Building A Simple Homemade Rotisserie For Your Project – DIY Tilt, Roll, Tip Over, Car Jig

Rotisseries have been used for restorations for a very long time and if you have a small car they can sometimes be relatively simple and easy to build. But if you have an American muscle car, or full size classic, then a rotisserie to hold that size car can be quite the undertaking. Not only are they big and bulky when attached to the car, but also a problem when it comes time to store it. And if you work on your car in a normal garage, they often aren’t deep enough to hold a rotisserie on each end of the car. But what about these roll over, or tip over jigs that people introduced several years ago? They bolt to the car and allow you to roll it over onto it’s side so you can work on the bottom. I have seen ones that allow the car to go all the way over and upside down as well, but most put the car on it’s side.

Sounds sketchy, looks a bit weird, but ultimately it isn’t that hard if you do it right. In the videos below you will see two easy DIY setups. I’ve never had one, but this video inspires me to build one for my shop as well. I think you could not only make one that is a fit for your particular project, but also that would be universal enough to use on multiple projects.
