We have been showing a lot of custom sheet metal work around here lately, and also rust repair with custom patch panels, but if you are lucky enough to have new sheetmetal replacement panels, then this video is for you. This is Part 1 of the build where the cab corner, rockers, floors, and more are getting repaired.
Video Description:
In this video I’m going to show you how to replace a cab corner, inner rocker, rear floor section and a rear B-pillar repair panel on a 1971 Chevy C-10. These techniques can also be used on Chevrolet C10, C20, C30 and GMC trucks, Blazer and Jimmy 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1972.
The C-10 panels I used were from TriPlus which are the panels that most aftermarket companies sell like Auto Metal Direct, Goodmark, Chevy Truck Stop and LMC Truck. Every repair patch panel was welded with a Lincoln Power MIG 140, with a 75/25 shielding gas.
This is my restomod project, old school hot rod styling with a modern drivetrain and most of the performance and handling of a newer sports car/truck.
Make sure you stay tuned for PART 2!
