World’s Worst 1957 Chevrolet: Why Ruin A Perfectly Good 1957 Chevy With Paint? Only This Thing Ain’t Perfectly Good Dan!

World’s Worst 1957 Chevrolet: Why Ruin A Perfectly Good 1957 Chevy With Paint? Only This Thing Ain’t Perfectly Good Dan!

He’s calling it the World’s Worst 1957 Chevrolet, but after all the work that Dan has done to it, does it deserve to be welded up and metal finished and painted? You’ll see that this thing has, up to this point, just been tacked together and that there are a BUNCH of patch panels. Where it would have been easier and cleaner to get larger panels to replace all the bad stuff, instead he used free patch panels and that means several in spots that could have been fixed with one larger panel. That means more welded seems, more welding, more grinding and weld finishing, more sanding, more filler, more everything if you want to get this thing ready for paint. So is that the plan? I sure wouldn’t want to do it!

Video Description:

We’re back on the ratty 1957 Chevy. In the last few videos we had everything tacked together and the car was looking good! Well, today we permanently glue this hotrod together.

The problem with “patch” panels vs FULL panels, is all the extra welding! It’s counter intuitive, but a larger panel requires less welding, less body work and less time! But patch panels we got were free…

So 2 full days of welding later and we have ourselves a “rust” free 57 Chevrolet 2 door hard top!
