A couple weeks back out pal Dave contacted us and asked if we wanted an old rear end that was sitting in the woods behind a family member’s house that he was helping to get ready for sale. After asking a couple questions we thought it sounded like the rear end out of a Model T. Turns out we were right. 

We don’t have Model T, don’t want a Model T, and don’t know a single soul with a Model T. That being said, we couldn’t let this piece of automotive history get smelted down into cookware. We hauled it out of the woods and loaded it into our truck to come home. At this point we’re looking to just give the thing away to anyone who can use it in a project, which would only be the resto of a Model T we’d guess.

So here’s the question. Have you ever done anything as weird as this? Ever been offered something you don’t need, and really, honestly, never will but have taken it anyway to prevent it from going to the junk heap? We’re betting lots of you have because being BangShifty means having an odd affinity for ancient stuff, even if there’s not practical use for it.
