Laugh if you want, but owning a modified garden tractor that is powered by either four cylinder Honda motorcycle engine or two stroke snowmobile engine is kind of on our bucket list. We were looking for such machinery on RacingJunk yesterday and found two very different, but very cool tractors that would be riotous to both drive and take to the local pulls. Despite what you may think, these are not hacked up hilljack creations. From the looks of the photos and the descriptions of the tractors, it looks like a lot of hard work and thoughtful backyard engineering went into building both of them.

Here’s the first one –

We fell in love with this one because it looks like one of the full sized modified tractors but is scaled down and sports what seems to be a two stroke snowmobile engine. This killer was scratch built in 2008 and is classified as an “outlaw open” garden tractor puller. The description is light on technical details, but seriously, look at this thing and tell us that you don’t want it badly. Even cranking it up at cookouts and pulling hole shots with it would make for good times!

This tractor is far more standard in appearance, but don’t be fooled! Those four exhaust stacks let the 1200cc Honda motorcycle engine breath freely when hooked to the small pulling sled. This tractor pulls in both the 1100lb and 1400lb class, has a Ford 9-inch rear, and a 4-speed Mustang transmission (which we take to mean like Ford Mustang). The motor has been all kinds of tuned up as it runs on 114 octane fuel, with, get this, nitromethane added! The custom paint is only a year old. With the 9-inch rear, four speed trans, and hyper pissed motorcycle engine, this tractor is probably scary fast and very competitive at the pull.
